The self-propelled three-row cotton picker model 4MZD-3 with pressing function is the latest proprietary development of the engineering bureau of Shandong Swan, designed to meet the needs of small and medium-sized cotton farms and the trend of compact mechanized cotton harvesting. The machine combines two technological processes: direct harvesting of raw cotton in the field and the formation of dense pressed bales directly at the harvesting site, eliminating intermediate costs for storing loose cotton and significantly reducing logistics expenses.

The combine harvester has successfully passed multi-year field trials in Xinjiang, China's main cotton-growing region. In terms of reliability, maneuverability, and the purity of the harvested raw material, the equipment is on par with global market leaders such as John Deere and enjoys steady demand from local farmers. Thanks to its compact dimensions compared to six-row counterparts, the machine is ideally suited for work on small cotton fields with complex terrain.

The power unit features a proven imported Cummins engine with an output of 424 kW (325 hp), supplemented by an electro-hydraulic transmission with an optional 4WD full-drive system, ensuring excellent passability on wet and uneven terrain. The harvesting module is based on the optimized PRO16 head with a total of 1,680 working spindles, where the front row consists of 16 spindle rows and the rear row has 12 rows of 20 spindles each. Thanks to the refined trajectory of the working elements, the cotton harvesting efficiency coefficient reaches 93%, minimizing fiber damage and the ingress of foreign impurities into the raw material, with the maximum working harvesting speed reaching 7.1 km/h.

The built-in press system allows adjustment of the formed bale diameter according to the moisture and trash content of the cotton in the field, with a standard weight of one finished module being 1400 kg. The forced feed and smooth controlled unloading system prevents accumulation and clogging of cotton in the internal channels of the equipment, reducing unplanned downtime during seasonal harvesting.

The cab is built to premium automotive standards with an ergonomic layout of all controls, power shift transmission, and hydraulic clutch, reducing operator fatigue during long hours of work. Inside, it features climate control, USB ports, and a 12V onboard outlet for connecting auxiliary devices.
